The panel got the case on Tuesday, after a prosecutor told them in his closing argument that Nichols worked side by side with Timothy McVeigh...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eJurors weighing the fate of Terry Nichols resume deliberations on Wednesday morning. \u003cbr/\u003eThe panel got the case on Tuesday, after a prosecutor told them in his closing argument that Nichols worked side by side with Timothy McVeigh in planning and carrying out the Oklahoma City bombing.\u003cbr/\u003eLawyers for the prosecution and the defence came to court on Tuesday knowing it was their last chance to convince the jury.\u003cbr/\u003eRelatives of both the defendant Terry Nichols and his alleged victims  also came to hear the closing arguments in the case.\u003cbr/\u003eNichols is charged with murder and conspiracy in the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the final words of his summation, defence attorney Michael Tigar put his hands on Nichols' shoulders and described him as an ordinary citizen, a committed father, and a man wrongly accused.\u003cbr/\u003eHe gave an emotional performance and he told jurors he didn't envy their job and called the accused his \"brother.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIn a brief prosecution rebuttal, government attorney Larry Mackey responded.\u003cbr/\u003eHe reminded jurors that the 168 men, women, and children who died in the blast \"are you brothers and sisters as well\", and urged them to convict Nichols.\u003cbr/\u003eThe panel was then instructed on the rule of law in the murder and conspiracy case, before beginning deliberations.\u003cbr/\u003eUnlike the trial of co-defendant Timothy McVeigh earlier this year, jurors were instructed to consider lesser offences, such as second-degree murder and manslaughter.\u003cbr/\u003eIf convicted Nichols faces the death penalty.\u003cbr/\u003eMcVeigh was convicted of identical charges and sentenced to death.\u003cbr/\u003eLegal analyst, Andrew Cohen said both sides made compelling arguments.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think the defence did a good job. They made the hits they needed to make. They talked about questions they have about the government's evidence. They want jurors back into deliberations, getting into those questions. Hopefully those questions become doubts and those doubts become reasonable doubts. That's what the defence is shooting for. For prosecutors, they're trying to make a very complex case, very simple. That's why you have charts and diagrams and that's why they come to the table and say, 'Look folks it isn't as difficult as you think.
