The iconic light saber. \u003cbr/\u003eAlain Block is an instructor with the Golden Gate Knights. And his martial arts and stage combat experience has earned him Jedi master status. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says picking up a lightsaber is like an initiation to a whole new world.\u003cbr/\u003e\"When a person gets their lightsaber, suddenly you're part of this other group of people that are a little more in touch with the secrets of the universe, I don't know.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHe teaches students how to do lightsaber twists and turns. \u003cbr/\u003eAnd the workout is good exercise, and a fun first date for some couples says Block. \u003cbr/\u003eAsked what people think of the idea of Jedi training, student Julio Reyes says people are incredulous but enthusiastic about the experience. \u003cbr/\u003e\"At first they giggle, because they think it's a little silly. Then they're like, actually that's kind of cool. Then they start asking more questions.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMany students want to be their childhood hero, Luke Skywalker. \u003cbr/\u003eBut for some, they are drawn to the dark side. \u003cbr/\u003eGary Ripper says he was attracted to Darth Vader's power: \"I just love Vader, period. Just his voice, the way he moved, the power of him. I just liked the powerfulness of him.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAnd when all the combat gets too hot to handle on Planet Earth. \u003cbr/\u003eThere is a meditation to release the dark side, and calm down.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We actually do a meditation at the end.
