Couples come here from across the Italian capital to fasten a lock to a chain on one of the many lampposts, and throw away the key into the Tiber river, so that no one can break their bond. \u003cbr/\u003eRoberta and Tiziano are celebrating seven months together and have chosen to honour the custom as an declaration of their love for each other.\u003cbr/\u003eTiziano says he didn't expect to see so many locks here already. \u003cbr/\u003eAnother couple walking on the bridge, Veronica and Simone, say they plan to celebrate Valentine's Day (Feb 14) by exchanging presents of chocolates and teddy bears.  \u003cbr/\u003eChocolate is the gift most usually associated with Valentine's day.  \u003cbr/\u003eAnd chocolate makers are busy preparing colourful treats and other heart-shaped sweets.  \u003cbr/\u003eIn Rome's San Lorenzo district,  the Historic Chocolate Factory is packaging chocolates ahead of the Valentine's Day rush for gifts. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Historic Chocolate Factory is a working factory for wholesale and retail clients, a chocolate shop, a chocolate museum, a winery and a chocolate tasting venue, all in one. \u003cbr/\u003eThe complex is currently managed by the third generation of the De Mauro family, who took over the firm in 1923. \u003cbr/\u003eCarla De Mauro, who runs the business with her brother Fabrizio, describes this year's Valentine-inspired range of products. \u003cbr/\u003eCarla says that women love chocolate because it is good for you, and it appeals to feminine senses of taste, touch and smell.  \u003cbr/\u003eHer
