In the places where they are living, the sun is shining all the day through, all the 24 hours, and the polar bears are very well adapted to this sun. Closeup of bear cub digging in the snow, then sliding down the mound to the bottom.\u003cbr/\u003eWith Moscow temperatures climbing above 25 degrees Celsius, some animals at the city's zoo are suffering the heat.\u003cbr/\u003eBut thanks to Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov, the polar bears no longer have to sizzle in the mid-summer sun. \u003cbr/\u003eAt Luzhkov's request, an artificial snow machine was installed in the bears' enclosure last week to pump out a mountain of cool, white snow for the bears and their two eight-month-old cubs. \u003cbr/\u003eThe machine does more than just keep the family cool, however.\u003cbr/\u003eThe bears are used to plenty of sunlight and high temperatures in the polar regions where they come from. What they are not used to, is the boredom factor.\u003cbr/\u003eZoo spokeswoman Natalya Ivanova says the snow keeps the polar bear occupied and busy in their cages. \u003cbr/\u003eSimona, the 10-year-old mother bear, and her two cubs appear to be delighted with the surprise.\u003cbr/\u003eWhilst many of the other animals are hiding in the shade, the polar bears are always out in view,
