They have to learn first to do that but when they learn to do that and it functions I would say certainly if they are rigorous four weeks,\" says Wade.\u003cbr/\u003eAnnette is one of Wade''s clients and has been training with her for almost a year.\u003cbr/\u003eShe does the exercises twice a week and has just one thing on her mind: trimming her dï¿½colletï¿½ area before summertime.\u003cbr/\u003e\"At first, I thought, these are really funny grimaces but then I just had to revise my opinion and, in the meantime, I have realised that it is actually possible to train even your facial muscles in a very natural, easy way,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eDr. Timm Golï¿½ke is a renowned German dermatologist. \u003cbr/\u003eHe is convinced that you can be successful with facebuilding if you do it regularly, but he doesn''t think that you can eliminate all wrinkles with this method. \u003cbr/\u003eLike all muscles, you can train those in your face but you can''t get rid of deep-lined wrinkles.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Well, I wouldn''t say that facebuilding could replace botox treatment but it definitely helps to support the effects, above all in the neck area. Especially if you would like to trim this area here, I often recommend that my patients do facebuilding after botox treatment on a regular basis. However, I suggest it as a kind of supportive measure over a longer period of time,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eFrom a medical point of view, facebuilding is like every other muscle training, fitness workouts or abdominal training exercises, and like every other training, you have to do it regularly. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Facebuilding is definitely another possibility to work against skin ageing, especially in connection with the right skin care, in connection with other treatments like for example botox injections, anti wrinkle injections or even laser therapy,\" says Dr. Golï¿½ke.\u003cbr/\u003eEven Jennifer had to realise that you can''t remove every single wrinkle in your face. \u003cbr/\u003eThe 61-year-old admits that she has had botox treatment herself.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I was so totally against it but I did have a little tiny bit here just to help train my muscles not to react that way. But I have to be honest you cannot really train that muscle there,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eChristine is one of Jennifer''s new clients. \u003cbr/\u003eAssistant trainer Astrid shows her what other parts of her body she has to train to feel comfortable in her skin again. \u003cbr/\u003eChristine appreciates the fact that facebuilding is also part of the programme.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Those muscles we have in the face are also muscles that have to be trained. You often underestimate them a little because you practically don''t do any exercises for them,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eThe training should be done in places where you are unobserved because you are, in effect, pulling faces. \u003cbr/\u003eBut Wade insists that the exercises can be done anywhere.\u003cbr/\u003e\"You can do it wherever you are. There''s no excuse. It''s all the time,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eFour weeks later at Annette''s place - it''s time to see if facebuilding really has become part of everyday life. \u003cbr/\u003eAnnette prefers to do her exercises in the lift because there are mirrors everywhere. \u003cbr/\u003eHowever, she is still not satisfied with her chin area, but she would never consider a plastic surgery.\u003cbr/\u003eFacebuilding is a good alternative for her, even if it takes time and effort to get the results.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Of course, it takes a certain length of time, that''s natural, but I can already see for myself - and I am my own hardest critic, of course - that the treatment has been a success so far. I noticed that everything got a bit tighter around here,\" says Christine.\u003cbr/\u003eChristine did the so-called \"cat mouth\" exercise to strengthen her muscles around her jaw line. \u003cbr/\u003e\"You can see on the jaw line that this little sort of hamster, this sort of little hamster cheeks that are falling down are beginning to smooth out and her jaw line is beginning to get its old sort of look again here,\" says Wade.\u003cbr/\u003eBy pulling faces, the musculature of the 50-year-old got stronger.\u003cbr/\u003eAs for Wade herself, who would have guessed that she is 61?\u003cbr/\u003e\"I''m 61 and I''m very proud of it,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eHer client Annette Lamperstorfer is a bit older, but also doesn''t look her age.\u003cbr/\u003e\"63, I''ll be 64 soon.
