Wide exterior of Bode museum \u003cbr/\u003ePortraits from the Renaissance era, including Leonardo da Vinci''s masterpiece \"Lady with an Ermine,\" and key works by Sandro Botticelli, have been brought together from around the world for a major exhibition in Berlin.\u003cbr/\u003eThe collection at the Bode Museum goes on display to the public today ( Thursday 25 August). \u003cbr/\u003eMore than 150 artworks including paintings, drawings, sculptures, medallions and busts, are part of an exhibition at the Bode Museum.\u003cbr/\u003eCalled ''Faces of the Renaissance'', it''s been put together in collaboration with New York''s Metropolitan Museum of Art.\u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibition showcases some of the most beautiful paintings from the Renaissance era and highlights how portraits evolved from early formulaic profiles to works in which the personalities of real people are revealed.\u003cbr/\u003eThe paintings feature magnificent portraits of wealthy women and distinguished businessmen and shine a light into Renaissance life and society.\u003cbr/\u003eMuseums from around the world including the Louvre in Paris, the Uffizi in Florence and London''s National Gallery have lent some of their top works for inclusion in the exhibition.\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the gems in the show is Leonardo da Vinci''s 1489-90 portrait \"Lady with an Ermine\" from the Czartoryski Collection in Krakow, Poland. \u003cbr/\u003eKeith Christiansen is the senior curator of European painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and has co-curated the exhibition in Berlin.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says visitors to the exhibition will see how portraits evolved across the Renaissance from paintings focussed on faces to paintings which tell stories through hands, expressions and clothing.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It starts with the face, those aspects of the face that are memorable. His works are held in the Uffizi in Florence as well as in the Louvre in Paris. \u003cbr/\u003eVincenzo Foppa, a painter known for his skill in perspective, lived from around 1430 until around 1515.  \u003cbr/\u003eAndrea di Aloigi, was an Italian Renaissance painter also known as L''Ingegno.\u003cbr/\u003e''Faces of the Renaissance'' runs in Berlin until 20 November 2011 and will then move to New
