Medium pan of child riding a bicycle singing the winning number through a megaphone \u003cbr/\u003eA lottery victory party continued in Sodeto in northern Spain on Friday, 24 hours after luck smiled on the tiny village of about 200 people.\u003cbr/\u003eBefore their win, the residents of Sodeto had been getting by during the tough economic times in Spain working the land and trying to find jobs in the hard-hit construction industry.\u003cbr/\u003eBilled as the world's richest, the lottery dishes out some 2.52 billion euros (3.29 billion US dollars) to winners across the nation.\u003cbr/\u003eThe top prize - dubbed \"El Gordo\" (The Fat One) - was split among the holders of tickets bearing the number 58268.\u003cbr/\u003eThe number appeared on 1,800 tickets, giving winners 400,000 euros for their 20 euro ticket.\u003cbr/\u003eMany homes in Sodeto have at least one person unemployed, but that bad luck changed on Thursday thanks to a local association which had sold lottery tickets house-to-house with the winning number.\u003cbr/\u003eJoaquin Perez is an unskilled construction worker who's been unemployed for three years, and thought it would have been another grim Christmas.\u003cbr/\u003eBut he's now sitting on more than one million euros, although he's reluctant to say just how much he's actually won.\u003cbr/\u003eIt was his wife Olga who went house-to-house selling the tickets, and because she couldn't sell all of them, they were forced to keep the left over tickets. \u003cbr/\u003eJoaquin can't believe his luck, but hasn't forgotten the plight of those who were in the same situation as him.\u003cbr/\u003eAn association was organised by the village housewives and the money they made by selling the tickets, with a small commission, was going to be invested in a local project for the irrigation of agricultural businesses. \u003cbr/\u003eThe project was already struggling to pay back loans, but those problems are now a thing of the past.\u003cbr/\u003eOlga was the one who went to the nearest lottery office in nearby Graďż˝en and choose the winning number.\u003cbr/\u003eShe's delighted with her win and to be able to bring so much happiness to her neighbours.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We still cannot believe this,\" she said. \"We just don't believe it.
