Various of Tripoli\u003cbr/\u003eLibya''s emergence from diplomatic purdah has continued apace in the wake of Tripoli''s decision to give up its pursuit weapons of mass destruction and its settlement with families of the Lockerbie Pan Am bombing.\u003cbr/\u003eSeif Al-Islam Gadhafi, one of the Libyan leader''s sons, and possible heir, discussed Libya''s new found role in the international community and its views on recent terror attacks, the war in Iraq and human rights in an exclusive interview with APTN.\u003cbr/\u003eAsked about the July bombings in London, he said he only thought they happened because of the United Kingdom''s involvement in the war in Iraq.\u003cbr/\u003eGadhafi said that he was upset as he saw British people demonstrating against the invasion in Iraq in the build-up to the war and that \"now the people are paying the price of this war\".\u003cbr/\u003eFour suspected suicide bombers killed 52 commuters when four bombs exploded on London''s transport system on July 7. \u003cbr/\u003eOn 21 July four bombs failed to create the same level of carnage on three underground trains and one bus.\u003cbr/\u003eGadhafi also said that the US-led occupying forces should \"pull out of Iraq, go out of Iraq, they have to leave Iraq\" otherwise the \"cycle of violence is going to go on and on\".\u003cbr/\u003eThe West is \"facing a common enemy\" and that \"they (the people planting bombs) don''t discriminate between Libyans and Americans and Muslims and Christians\", he added.\u003cbr/\u003eTouching on \"The War on Terror\",  he remarked: \"We are very happy with our intelligence corporation with the Americans.\"\u003cbr/\u003eRelations between Washington and Tripoli, strained since Gadhafi came to power in a military coup in 1969 - and  which hit a nadir in the mid-1980s when the Reagan administration bombed Libya with a view to killing him - have steadily improved over the last year.\u003cbr/\u003eIn June 2004, the United States opened a liaison office in Tripoli, 24 years after Washington closed its embassy in the North African country. \u003cbr/\u003eLast year, the United States took steps toward normalising trade and investment relations with Libya, including the import of Libyan oil.\u003cbr/\u003eThawing relations were based largely on Gadhafi''s decision to give up Libya''s pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and financial settlements with the families of the victims of the 1988 Pan Am 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, in which 270 people, most of them Americans, died.\u003cbr/\u003eThe United States on Monday suggested Libya could expect long-sought diplomatic recognition from the United States if it cleaned up its record on human rights and terrorism.\u003cbr/\u003eUS officials gave no indication that an embassy would be opened in Tripoli within days, as Seif Al-Islam Gadhafi, has said in recent days.\u003cbr/\u003eIn March, the Bush administration notified Congress it planned to establish full relations with the once outcast government by the end of the year,\u003cbr/\u003edespite suspicions in Saudi Arabia that Libyan agents plotted to try to assassinate then-Crown Prince Abdullah in late 2003.\u003cbr/\u003eA US ambassador will be sent to Tripoli and 19 American diplomats working out of a hotel in Tripoli will move into a temporary embassy facility by the winter, then-acting US Undersecretary of State William J. negotiating the opening of the embassy and removal of the Libyan government from a US State Department list of countries that sponsor terror.\u003cbr/\u003eMoammar Gadhafi''s son also said on Sunday that 131 political prisoners, including a number from the banned Muslim Brotherhood, could be released as early as September.\u003cbr/\u003eSeif al-Islam Gadhafi, who runs the Gadhafi International Association for Charitable Organisations, said that \"after that we will not have any conscious or political prisoners any more in Libya.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe younger Gadhafi, second son of the mercurial leader and seen as his possible successor, has won praise for helping secure the release of Western hostages and Arab prisoners, and for negotiating compensation for victims of a 1986 West
