electricity company,'s Bolivian subsidiary was nationalised last week.  \u003cbr/\u003eIn a news conference after meetings on Monday between the company,'s chairman Jose Folgado and Bolivia,'s energy minister Juan Jose Sosa, both said they were optimistic that a deal could be worked out. \u003cbr/\u003eSosa said the government,'s decree nationalising Red Electrica,'s subsidiary, Transportadora de Electricidad (TDE), allowed time to hire an \"international and reputable business to determine the value of the company.\"\u003cbr/\u003eFolgado said the two sides would work together \"in a process that we understand has to be based, as the minister said in the meeting, it has to be based on transparency, objectivity, and under these circumstances we can reach a good outcome.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe seizure of TDE was announced last Tuesday by President Evo Morales at a ceremony marking May Day.\u003cbr/\u003eThe nationalisation comes at a bad time for the Spanish government, the owner of 20 percent of Red Electrica, as it faces a recession, mass unemployment and investor concerns it will be the next eurozone country to need a bailout.\u003cbr/\u003eSpanish officials have warned that Bolivia,'s nationalisation of Red Electrica, which owned most of its electricity grid, will hurt the Latin American country,'s image among international investors.\u003cbr/\u003eRed Electrica owned 74 percent of Bolivia,'s transmission grid, or 1,720 miles (2,772 kilometres) of high voltage lines.\u003cbr/\u003eThe company has denied Bolivia,'s accusations that the local unit did not invest enough
