They were happy to send it as a gift to the Palestinians in their homeland to show unity among Palestinians from all over the world and to use the flag on the anniversary of President Yasser Arafat,\" says organiser Mohammad Elian.\u003cbr/\u003eOne participant, Helme Al Araj, says the flag is a symbol of Palestinians' desire to create their own state with Jerusalem as its capital. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I'm happy to be holding the flag with other Palestinians: students, the young and old, and people my age, who have spent long years in Israeli prisons. We're holding this flag to show that we are united with our homeland and with our flag until we raise it in our capital, Jerusalem,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003ePalestinians are seeking east Jerusalem, which is home to the city's most sensitive Jewish, Christian and Muslim holy sites, as their future capital.\u003cbr/\u003eThe participants carry the flag to Arafat's tomb in the Presidential compound and drape it outside, where people can still write messages of support.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I wrote the name of my school and I wrote 'Freedom for Palestine'.
