head the jury at the world's most prestigious film festival.\u003cbr/\u003eFellow juror Hanif Kureishi, the British screenwriter of 'My Beautiful Laundrette' and 'The Mother', was more concerned with as leader of a group of Jewish soldiers hunting down Nazis.\u003cbr/\u003eGloom and gore abound: Lars von Trier's 'Antichrist', about a couple's trip to the woods that turns chilling; Park Chan-Wook's 'Thirst', in which a priest turns bloodsucker; and Gaspar Noe's 'Enter the Void', billed in the festival program as a nightmarish 'hallucinatory maelstrom'.\u003cbr/\u003eOn a gentler note, Jane Campion's 'Bright Star' depicts the poet John Keats in love, while Lee's 'Taking Woodstock' set on the fringes of the seminal '60s rock fest.\u003cbr/\u003eThe line up looks strong, but festival organisers and industry attendees are apprehensive about how the global recession will affect the event.\u003cbr/\u003eFestival director Thierry Fremaux said he expects attendance to be up slightly from last year, but Vanity Fair magazine has cancelled its annual Cannes party, and some soirees are rumoured to have swapped champagne for sparkling wine.\u003cbr/\u003eThe festival runs through May
