Wide of lawyer leaving court\u003cbr/\u003eThe father of a Scottish girl on Wednesday rejected a conditional offer from his ex-wife to drop demand for custody, a week after the mother told a\u003cbr/\u003ePakistani court that she was ready to withdraw her case if she is allowed regular contacts with the 12 year old.\u003cbr/\u003eLouise Campbell, the Scottish mother, on January 10 made the offer through her attorney at Pakistan Supreme Court, where she and her Pakistani ex-husband, Sajad Ahmed Rana, had been battling for custody of Molly Campbell, also known as Misbah Iram Ahmed Rana.\u003cbr/\u003eThe girl has been living with her father since she arrived in the eastern city of Lahore in August.\u003cbr/\u003eHer mother has said the girl was taken to Pakistan without her permission.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Wednesday, Naheeda Mahbood Elahi, a lawyer for the mother, formally submitted a \"conditional\" offer at a Supreme Court hearing that she will drop her demand for full custody if she is allowed to go back home to Scotland for regular meetings, as well as telephone and Internet contact with her child.\u003cbr/\u003eMalik Mohammed Qayyum, a lawyer for the girl's father, rejected the offer on Rana's instruction, saying his ex-wife had converted to Christianity, and that now she was living with a man outside marriage.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Islam, no woman is meant to live with any person as a wife without signing a formal marriage contract.\u003cbr/\u003eThe court adjourned the hearing until Thursday, and asked Elahi to come up with a reply whether Islam permitted any Muslim woman to live with a man outside marriage.\u003cbr/\u003eLater, Qayyum told reporters that the girl - who also attended the court hearing but refused to make any comment - didn't want to live with her\u003cbr/\u003emother. \u003cbr/\u003eHowever, he said she still was in contact with Louise Campbell by telephone.\u003cbr/\u003eLast week, the girl had denied that she had been forced to go to Pakistan against her will, saying she has no desire to live with her mother.\u003cbr/\u003eRana and Campbell married in a Muslim ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1984. \u003cbr/\u003eThey had two sons and two daughters before divorcing in 2001.
