alarmed consumers and prompted calls for the government to intervene.\u003cbr/\u003eRetail prices for both gasoline and diesel fuel have climbed about 10 per cent in the past three weeks in Ukraine, reflecting record high world oil prices and increased tariffs from Russia, a major source of Ukraine's fuel.\u003cbr/\u003eFuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko told reporters that oil companies representing about 60 per cent of Ukraine's fuel market agreed to cap retail gas prices at 4.7 hryvna a litre (0.93 US dollars, 0.75 euros) and diesel prices at 4.1 hryvna a litre (0.82 US dollars, 0.65 euros).\u003cbr/\u003eHe said the government set the caps, taking into account world oil prices and tariffs, as well as consumer interests. \u003cbr/\u003eHe also said that if fuel stations did
