featured at Microsoft's 4th innovation day in Brussels on December 4, 2007. \u003cbr/\u003eA new study into the gaming habits of European children, commissioned by the computer giants Microsoft, says that over seventy percent (71%) of parents in the UK, France, Germany and Italy are concerned about the content of video games played by their children. \u003cbr/\u003e81% of parents in Italy and 76% of British parents surveyed said they were worried about the content of games \u003cbr/\u003e4,000 parents took part in the study and nearly half, (44%) said that restricting children's time playing video games to one hour a day was advisable.\u003cbr/\u003eAbout half said they felt their children spent too long playing video games and they were unable to restrict that time.  \u003cbr/\u003eTwo-thirds of all parents (66%) said the responsibility of deciding what games children should be allowed to play rested with their parents. \u003cbr/\u003eThe majority of parents (60%) said they were confident about the knowing how to operate built-in functions on game consoles or operating systems to control their child's access.\u003cbr/\u003eMicrosoft commissioned the study alongside its European launch of new child security features for its Xbox 360 game console, called the Family Timer. \u003cbr/\u003eThe technology was unveiled at  Microsoft's 4th innovation day in Commission has previously ordered that Microsoft license its trade secrets on an open source basis. \u003cbr/\u003eSun Microsystems Inc. triggered an EU investigation nine years ago when it complained that Microsoft was breaking with industry norms by refusing to supply basic interoperability information. \u003cbr/\u003eA group of Microsoft rivals had also complained that Microsoft also refused to give information on Office's word processing, spreadsheet and database software that prevented other technology companies from making compatible programmes.  \u003cbr/\u003eOther gadgets unveiled by Microsoft at the event on Tuesday, included a robot to assist elderly or disabled people and an intelligent mirror with a toothbrush that, once held, will read your blood pressure, heartbeat and body
