Her mini-me doll, Bella is a constant companion. Today they are visiting this store to get the doll's hair curled. \u003cbr/\u003eMeet Florence, and her doll Olivia, who is getting her hair curled. \u003cbr/\u003eDoll Grace is modelling a new sparkly party frock, and her owner, Shona is shopping for a new outfit for her doll. \u003cbr/\u003eLaunched in September 2011, My London Girl sells dolls that are an almost-identical image of your daughter. \u003cbr/\u003eParents can even buy matching outfits for their daughters - and their dolls - in the shop.\u003cbr/\u003eThe store is located in the busy West London Westfield shopping centre.\u003cbr/\u003eMy London Girl is a family-owned business run by Paul Neagle and his wife Kathryn. \u003cbr/\u003eNeagle and his family would regularly visit the United States where the mini-dolls phenomenon has become a runaway success.\u003cbr/\u003eThe US company My American Girl has sold 20 million dolls since its launch in 1998. \u003cbr/\u003eAccording to Paul Neagle, My London Girl is the first shop of its kind in Europe.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd the doll business is booming, he says, with 22,000 items sold so far including dolls, clothes and accessories. \u003cbr/\u003eSales are up by 65 percent in a year. \u003cbr/\u003eToday, the shop sells an average of 30 dolls per week.\u003cbr/\u003eOnce a month, the store opens a hair salon to style the doll's hair in different ways.\u003cbr/\u003eFlorence Hockaday has brought her doll, Olivia to have her hair curled.\u003cbr/\u003eThe 10-year-old likes having a twin doll.\u003cbr/\u003eShe says she picked her doll Olivia, \"because she has blue eyes like me and she has a really nice hair colour.\"\u003cbr/\u003e11-year-old Shona Johnson and her doll, Grace are inseparable.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I do dancing, I do swimming, I do football, I do filming club and that's all,\" says the younger Johnson. \u003cbr/\u003eShona's mother Lisa confirms that her daughter and her doll spend all their time together.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Grace comes everywhere,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003eSome might say cloning dolls is a little sinister, but co-owner of the shop Paul Neagle insists the dolls provide healthy role models for children.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's a very positive image for a child, these dolls are natural, naturally shaped, natural bodies, natural looks. There are not underweight or overweight, they are perfect dolls and I think it encourages things like role play which is very important I think in a child emotional and social development,\" he says. \u003cbr/\u003eAnna Burgess, Poppy's mother doesn't think that a mirror-doll image can feed narcissistic tendencies.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The fact that she's got a doll that she relates to because she thinks it looks like her I don't think it's a problem. I think there will be an age where she will grow out of it but at the moment she loves it, she loves the outfits, it's pretty so no, I don't see it as a problem at all,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003eStarting prices to buy a doll with a standard outfit is ï¿½79 ($128 US dollars). \u003cbr/\u003eBut when adding outfits and accessories - the wardrobe possibilities are unlimited, and the cost can increase to hundreds of pounds.\u003cbr/\u003eSome girls such as Tate Respinger have saved up their pocket money to buy a My London Girl.\u003cbr/\u003eHer aunt, Sasha  Respinger says Tate's hobby made her more responsible, and taught her the value of money.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think it's fantastic. She has so much fun, she really learns how to look after something. And she has really learn how to save up and really put money together and save for something that she really wants to buy herself whereas of asking for it. So it has taught her an awful lot,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003e7-year-old Ella Smith and 4-year-old Isabella Nicholas both have Barbie dolls. But they much prefer to play with their lookalike dolls.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Because they are so pretty and so nice and they are so big,\" says Isabella Nicholas.\u003cbr/\u003eElla Smith says her \"barbies are boring.\"\u003cbr/\u003eCo-owner Kathryn Neagle thinks that the enthusiasm for the dolls shows a return to traditional values.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd there are some big girls that are also interested in collecting the dolls, she says. She says that My London girl attracts the collectors market too. \u003cbr/\u003e\"What's so nice is that they are very appealing to doll collectors. So the girls, once they feel that they, sort of outgrown maybe playing with their dolls, they still like to come and choose new outfits and actually collect the items,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003eAnd My London Boy, Ollie is also on sale for the girls who like boys. \u003cbr/\u003eAnd for girls that want to look like their dolls: parents can also buy a matching outfit for their daughter too. \u003cbr/\u003eDolls' outfits start from ï¿½15, matching clothes for young girls from ï¿½25.\u003cbr/\u003eWhen they set up the shop, Paul and Kathryn Neagle thought girls from the age of 3 to 8 would be the core customers. \u003cbr/\u003eBut they discovered that older girls up to 14-years-old are also interested in the dolls.
