She understands us, so there are many expectations,\" she said outside the court.\u003cbr/\u003eThe inquiry is currently the only one on crimes committed during the Franco years in the world. \u003cbr/\u003e\"For the first time there's going to be a document in which the victims are seen as victims and the torturers as criminals,\" said a lawyer for the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory, Eduardo Rant.\u003cbr/\u003eRant says the Spanish government has never put up real money to support a case like this and it is only happening now thanks to the Argentine justice system and taxes.\u003cbr/\u003eThis year the judge accused four former agents of the Franco regime of various crimes of torture.\u003cbr/\u003eTwo of the accused are dead, but there are outstanding international arrest warrants for the other two, with the aim of getting them extradited to Argentina.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Spanish attorney general is opposed to their arrests and the courts have still not responded to the request.\u003cbr/\u003eThe United Nations has now urged Spain to collaborate with Argentina on the case.\u003cbr/\u003eSpanish judge Baltasar Garzon tried to open a case on the crimes of the Franco regime in 2008 but was stopped after the courts invoked the Amnesty Law of 1977.\u003cbr/\u003e1.
