I mean today purple, light blue, the new colour for lingerie,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eLinget predicts the most popular colours for 2010 will be purple and \"African brown\" because it is rarely used in lingerie. \u003cbr/\u003eShe says the outlook for the Asian market is very optimistic.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think Asia is moving so fast. So, it''s moving very very fast,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eWith a record-breaking 150 plus exhibitors, the organisers expect at least 4, 000 visitors from all over the world. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Hong Kong Mode Lingerie has become one of the most important sourcing platforms for professionals showcasing specialised lingerie. \u003cbr/\u003eValerie Lemant from Eurovet, says the market in Asia is growing rapidly and hopefully more orders will be placed during the trade show. \u003cbr/\u003e\"What is special, each time this exhibition grows and grows and grows year after year. And it really is a scratch of the dynamism of the market in Asia and especially in China. So, it was a baby-born show four years ago, maybe with 70 exhibitors. Now, we have over 150 exhibitors coming from all over the world. So it is an improved and grown show,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eThis year 29% of suppliers are showcasing fabrics, 23% accessories, 15% lace and 12% embroideries for lingerie and beachwear. \u003cbr/\u003eAmong them, 29% come from Hong Kong, 28% from China, 25% from Asia and 18% from the rest of the world. \u003cbr/\u003eLemant says it is still too early to estimate how much business the fair will generate, but she is confident because of a 10-percent increase in the number of visitors. \u003cbr/\u003eThe financial downturn has not hit much of the industry and its recovery is on the up.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to the Women Lingerie Study 2009, conducted by the French Institute for Fashion, the average lingerie spending in France had just dropped 1.3% in the first quarter of 2009, with two out of five lingerie items were sold during \"sale\" periods. \u003cbr/\u003eIn emerging markets like China and India, the demand has always been keen even during the financial downturn. \u003cbr/\u003eMost of the leading local lingerie brands in China have already established their retail channels to compete with foreign brands. \u003cbr/\u003eCarol Zhu, a merchandiser from Guangzhou, China, says Chinese consumers are demanding products of higher quality.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I am looking for some light fabrics, it has to be very comfortable. For patterns, I like simple design.\" \u003cbr/\u003eChristoph Leehmann, a buyer from Switzerland, says the quality of fabrics from Asia is improving, but he would like to have more choices from Europe.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"I want to see more variation in suppliers, more from Europe also.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe fourth Hong Kong Mode Lingerie runs from 30-31 March in Hong
