Medium shot mother of bomb victim\u003cbr/\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eThe trial of Oklahoma City bombing suspect Timothy McVeigh has opened in a  barricaded courthouse in Denver, Colorado. \u003cbr/\u003eIt's nearly two years since the explosion tore through the Murrah Federal building, killing  more than a hundred and fifty people.\u003cbr/\u003eThe first hurdle will be choosing 12 jurors  from a large pool of people nominated for jury  duty.\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the first prospective jurors says he believes other people involved in the blast  may still be at large. \u003cbr/\u003eOutside the court, the crowds were much smaller than expected.\u003cbr/\u003eThe media were out in force for the beginning of what's been dubbed \"the second trial of  the century\".\u003cbr/\u003eBut, unlike the O-J Simpson marathon, this trial has induced widespread apathy.  \u003cbr/\u003eIn the minds of most Americans, McVeigh was guilty before the trial had even begun.\u003cbr/\u003eThat bias of public opinion has caused a major headache for the U-S justice system.\u003cbr/\u003eThe defence team claims the pool of prospective jurors is already influenced by reports  of McVeigh's alleged confessions.\u003cbr/\u003eSo much so that they couldn't now consider the evidence fairly.\u003cbr/\u003eOnly a handful of the victims' families were at the Denver court on Monday.\u003cbr/\u003eBut Roy Sells, who lost his wife in the tragedy, said that he would be taking a keen  interest in the impartiality of the jury.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"I just want to be here to see how the jury acts, or the people that they're choosing for  the jury. What kind of people they are, just a feeling I get about them.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Roy Sells, husband of bomb victim\u003cbr/\u003eAuthorities allege McVeigh went from being a model soldier to a paranoid loner.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors have alleged he set off the bomb because he was angry about the  government's handling of a raid on the Branch Davidian complex in Waco.\u003cbr/\u003eThe judge moved the trial from Oklahoma to Colorado because of extensive pretrial  publicity.\u003cbr/\u003eA hidden, closed-circuit camera has been placed in the courtroom so survivors and  relatives of bombing victims can watch the trial in Oklahoma City.\u003cbr/\u003eThe process of jury selection alone is expected to take about two weeks.\u003cbr/\u003eNearly 4-hundred prospective jurors will be questioned individually by lawyers from both  sides. \u003cbr/\u003eOnly once the final composition of the jury been agreed can the trial begin properly.\u003cbr/\u003eA final verdict is months away.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's been far too long.
