This postcard suddenly came to light and he rang me up and asked me if I knew where this particular residence was, where the postcard was addressed to. And I said 'well I don't, but who is it to and who is it from?' and he told me the names, Butler to Amy Hicks. And I remembered that Joyce Hulbert, who we've known for years, since we first got involved in looking at village history, she was a Butler and so I said that's probably the connection.\"  \u003cbr/\u003e12. Various of Chippenham post office\u003cbr/\u003eA postcard sent from the trenches during World War I by a British private to his wartime sweetheart in the United Kingdom finally arrived - 92 years after he had sent it.\u003cbr/\u003ePrivate Walter Butler wrote to Amy Hicks in 1915, telling her he was alive and well - but the army issue postcard never made it to her home in the village of Colerne in Wiltshire, 60 miles (100 kilometres) west of London. \u003cbr/\u003eButler survived the war, and the couple went on to marry.\u003cbr/\u003eThe postcard turned up in a postal sorting office, which sent it along last week to the post office near Hicks' address. \u003cbr/\u003eA local postman called the home of the couple's daughter, Joyce Hulbert, to announce the discovery.\u003cbr/\u003eHulbert, 86, a grandmother of three, said that her late parents rarely discussed the war, and that the relic of the past had little meaning for her.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I was pleased to get it, pleased to see it, but other than that, no particular feelings about it,\" she told The Associated Press.\u003cbr/\u003eShe wondered what the fuss was all about.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I shall put it in my book, one of these books where I keep all my photographs of him and family and forget about it,\" she added. \"Well one has to, there's nothing else that I can do with it.\"\u003cbr/\u003eFamily friend Adrian Wood was instrumental in helping the post card reach its destination.\u003cbr/\u003eThe letter came to light at Chippenham Sorting Office last week, and a local postman contacted Wood, knowing his interest in local village history, to see whether he could help in locating Hicks.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I remembered that Joyce Hulbert, who we've known for years,
