\u003cbr/\u003eHundreds of university students swarmed through the streets of the Zairian capital  Kinshasa Friday demanding war with neighbouring Rwanda and Burundi.\u003cbr/\u003eThey accused the government of failing to quash the rebel Tutsis in the north-east of the  country, who have been beating back Zaire's poorly equipped army, and gaining control  over large areas of land.\u003cbr/\u003eBut the Zairian government declared they had the situation under control despite  conflicting reports emerging that Rwandan troops working with Tutsi rebels have  captured the town of Goma, near the Rwandan border.\u003cbr/\u003eAs fighting between Zairian troops and ethnic Tutsi rebels raged along the Zaire-Rwanda  border -- more than 900 miles to the east -- anti-Tutsi rhetoric heated up in Kinshasa.  \u003cbr/\u003eHundreds of university students drove and marched through the city, Friday, shouting  for the rebels' defeat. \u003cbr/\u003eMany travelled in vehicles hijacked from civilians and several public telephone booths  belonging to the private cellular phone company Telecel -- run by a Tutsi -- were  damaged by rampaging protesters. \u003cbr/\u003eProtesters also shouted for the resignation of Prime Minister Kengo wa Dondo for failing  to crush the eastern uprising quickly.  \u003cbr/\u003eA heavy presence of soldiers on the streets of the city kept the situation under control  as hundreds of people voiced their anger at the worsening situation on the Zaire-Rwanda- Burundi border.\u003cbr/\u003eThe students demanded the government declare war against Rwanda and Burundi,  saying the countries were sending Tutsi militants to Zaire to try to take over the border  region.\u003cbr/\u003eBut the Zairian government refused to be cowed by its critics.\u003cbr/\u003ePrime Minister Kengo Wa Dondo arrived in parliament Thursday to make a speech in  defence of his actions over growing refugee and military crisis.\u003cbr/\u003eHe was greeted with scepticism and jeers as the members banged the tables  demonstrating their disagreement over government policy.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd Kengo's words failed to
