Various of Star Wars collectable characters\u003cbr/\u003e'Star Wars', the classic movie, is celebrating its 30th birthday this month. \u003cbr/\u003eWhen \"Star Wars\" opened for the first time in May 1977 it became the largest grossing film of all time and won eight Academy Awards (Oscars). \u003cbr/\u003eThe movie instantly became a cult and over thirty years, won a legion of devoted fans across the world and started a series of sequels and eventually prequels (there are six movies in all). \u003cbr/\u003eFans of the film are marking the anniversary in various ways across the world during the month of May. \u003cbr/\u003eAnd in Mexico one fan club is taking some of the \"Star Wars\" characters to the children's ward of a local hospital.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Mexico, the biggest \"Star Wars\" fan club is located in the city of Guadalajara. \u003cbr/\u003eThe club organises its own events and also interacts with the community through charity events.\u003cbr/\u003eFor the past four years the fan club has visited the city's Civil Hospital dressed up in their \"Star Wars\" costumes - they donate money to the hospital, and toys for the children, who are spending time on the paediatrics ward.\u003cbr/\u003eAldo Camacho is both an anaesthetist at the Guadalajara Civil Hospital and a member of the Guadalajara's Star Wars Fan club.\u003cbr/\u003eCamacho makes regular appearances at the hospital dressed as the \"Star Wars\" anti-hero Darth Vader.\u003cbr/\u003ePaediatrician Marďż˝a Contreras says the fan club's visits to the hospital are great for the children's morale.\u003cbr/\u003eMiguel Campos is the leader of the fan club and he is dressed as his character of choice, Darth Maul.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says it is good to give something back to the community.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Guadalajara \"Star Wars\" fan club is based in Mexico but they have a website which attracts people from all over South and central America.\u003cbr/\u003eHector Ruiz's son Diego is currently in the paediatrics ward at the hospital.  \u003cbr/\u003eDiego is very enthusiastic about the \"Star Wars\" characters, saying that he plays the computer games at home.\u003cbr/\u003ePeople in the fan club come from all walks of life.\u003cbr/\u003eClub member Igor Cordoba has managed to pass on his love of \"Star Wars\" to his son.\u003cbr/\u003eIgor and his son Antonio both collect \"Star Wars\" action figures and artefacts, in a tradition that started 30 years ago, when Igor first saw the original trilogy. \u003cbr/\u003eIgor says he has collected \"Star Wars\" figures since he was a child.\u003cbr/\u003eHe loved the film series so much he introduced his son Antonio to it.\u003cbr/\u003eAntonio now also collects the figures.  He says it bring him and his father closer.\u003cbr/\u003eThe first \"Star Wars\" movie was released on May 25th
