Tigers of Tamil Eelam is the official name of the Tamil rebels who were defeated by government troops in 2009, ending nearly 30 years of civil war. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Tigers were fighting to create an independent state for ethnic minority Tamils, saying they faced discrimination from the Sinhalese majority.\u003cbr/\u003eAt the former rebel stronghold of Kilinochchi, gunfire has given way to holy chants of the traditional wedding rituals. \u003cbr/\u003eAs part of the government's reintegration program, a group wedding was organised on Wednesday for the rehabilitated Tamil Tigers.\u003cbr/\u003eThree couples, including five former rebel fighters, have joined the mainstream and vowed to leave behind their bloody past. \u003cbr/\u003eThe fighters had surrendered to the
