Rumsfeld. \u003cbr/\u003eReports also quoted US military officials as saying the lack of troops and weapons meant the war might last into the summer.\u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking with marked emphasis, Franks ticked off nine successes of coalition forces since the beginning of the war, starting with securing southern oil fields.\u003cbr/\u003eFranks rejected reports that his forces had engaged in an \"operational pause\" near the gates of Baghdad. At least 120 militants were killed in the attack on Ansar al-Islam, an extremist group suspected of being linked to the al-Qaida network.\u003cbr/\u003eHe also said Iraqis opposed to Saddam were working with coalition forces, notably in Nasiriyah, where they provided records on ruling Baath party officials.  He did not elaborate.\u003cbr/\u003eMeantime, British commandos on Sunday killed an Iraqi colonel during a battle with Saddam Hussein's paramilitary forces in the southeast corner of Basra, according to British officials. \u003cbr/\u003eA spokesman for British forces in the Gulf said five Iraqis, including a general officer, were taken prisoner.\u003cbr/\u003eGroup Captain Al Lockwood also said at
