Wide shot of gallery\u003cbr/\u003eFor the first time ever the public has the opportunity to get a rare glimpse into the personal art collection of a Hollywood celebrity.  Actor, comedian and best-selling author Steve Martin, a notable art collector, is exhibiting his private collection at The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art April 7 through to September 3, 2001. \u003cbr/\u003eThe collection, assembled over 30 years, is comprised mainly of Modern and Contemporary works and spans from the late 19th century to the present day.  Among the many distinctive and notable works is a pair of sketches by Georges Seurat, paintings and drawings by Roy Lichtenstein, Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso and David Hockney.  Earlier works by American artists Stanton MacDonald-Wright and Charles Demuth also will be featured as well as two magnificent examples of Edward Hopper paintings.\u003cbr/\u003eAlso on loan to the exhibition are two works, one by David Park and the other by Neil Jenney, from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), previously donated to the museum by Steve Martin, a member of the museum's board of trustees.  \u003cbr/\u003eAmong the Contemporary works are paintings by actor/comedian Martin Mull and Eric Fischl, whose three pieces include a portrait of Steve Martin.\u003cbr/\u003eAn audio tour narrated by Steve Martin is included with the admission price.  Adam Gopnik, an award-winning art writer and critic for The New Yorker magazine, has written the tour.  The tour also includes some of Mr Martin's personal commentary and anecdotes.  \u003cbr/\u003eNet profits from the exhibition will benefit the Steve Martin Charitable Foundation, a privately run organization that assists the arts.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is a non-commercial exhibition venue dedicated to the presentation of high quality art exhibitions from major museums and private collections.
