(May 4)\u003cbr/\u003e[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE]\u003cbr/\u003eIt's a case like no other.\u003cbr/\u003eThis man is suing...\u003cbr/\u003ethis family-run dry cleaner...\u003cbr/\u003efor a whopping 65 million dollars all over a pair of pants the store allegedly lost two years ago.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd if you think that's a little ridiculous you're not alone.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Darren McKinney, Director of Communications at the American Tort Reform Association \" This goes beyond absurd, I mean there is no word that defines the madness that this suit in essence is.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIt all began back in in 2005 when Roy Pearson, who is a judge in D-C, took his suit to be cleaned here.\u003cbr/\u003eThe store lost the pants and the judge asked the store to cough up more than a thousand dollars to replace it.\u003cbr/\u003eA week later the store claims it found his pants and refused to pay.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, Pearson claims those aren't his pants and decided to sue.\u003cbr/\u003eAn attorney for the family says they it offered him up to 12 thousand dollars to settle the case but Pearson wants much more....\u003cbr/\u003eLike 15 thousand dollars to cover the cost of renting a car to drive to another dry cleaner.\u003cbr/\u003eHe also claims the store is guilty of fraud because it had signs offering same day service and promising satisfaction guaranteed... And should face a 15 hundred dollar a day fine.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's when you add that up for 12 hundred days and multiply by three defendants that you reach the 65 million dollar mark.\u003cbr/\u003eThose pushing for tort reform in this suit alone may show the judge suing the cleaners isn't fit for his position.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT mcKinney\u003cbr/\u003e\"The evidence the public has before them now, the essence of this law suit and the madness of this law suit could certainly indicate to a reasonable person that Judge Pearson does not have the judgement nor the judicial temperament to serve the citizen of the District of Columbia well in his current capacity.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe case is set to go to trial on June 11th.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Associated
