Wide shot of news conference\u003cbr/\u003eIn major concessions to Sri Lanka's peace process, the Tamil Tiger guerrilla group on Sunday dropped its demand for an interim administration and said it will allow other political parties in the areas it controls.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTT) also acknowledged for the first time that it held and recruited child soldiers during the 19-year ethnic war, which has killed more than 64-thousand people.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the past, the Tigers have denied accusations by the United Nations and human rights groups that they kidnap children and recruit them into their ranks.\u003cbr/\u003eThe LTT and the Sri Lankan government ended their second round of peace talks on Sunday after agreeing to rehabilitate war-torn regions and meet the political aspirations of the minority Tamils, who mostly live in the north and the east of Sinhalese-dominated Sri Lanka.\u003cbr/\u003eTamils, who comprise 18 percent of Sri Lanka's 18.6 million people, complain of discrimination in jobs and education by the majority Sinhalese, who make up 74 percent of the population.\u003cbr/\u003eBalasingham also spoke out against a 200 year jail sentence passed - in absentia - by a Sri Lankan court against Tamil Tiger leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran, for planning a 1996 bombing that killed 91 people and injured 300 in Sri Lanka.\u003cbr/\u003eBalasingham said that acts of war between the two sides could not be judged as criminal acts, or else the LTT would pursue even longer sentences - \"maybe 2000 years\" - against Sri Lankan soldiers in courts in the North and East. \u003cbr/\u003eSri Lanka's civil war halted under a Norwegian-brokered cease-fire in February. Norway also brokered the two rounds of peace talks held so far in Thailand. The third round will be held next month in Oslo, Norway, and three more rounds are scheduled in January, February and March but no venue has been decided.\u003cbr/\u003eNorway's representative at this
