Computer graphic of Libeskind's design\u003cbr/\u003eHours after agreeing to collaborate on a 1776 foot \"Freedom Tower,\" architects Daniel Libeskind and David Childs posed at the World Trade Centre site on Wednesday and said they were eager to get to work.\u003cbr/\u003eThe collaboration announced earlier on Wednesday gives Childs the lead role in developing the tower, which is to be the world's tallest.\u003cbr/\u003eChilds is the consulting partner of Skidmore, Owings \u0026amp; Merrill and has done extensive work with Trade Centre leaseholder Larry Silverstein.\u003cbr/\u003eIt remained unclear what effect the deal would have on Libeskind's design for the tower, which was part of a proposal for the site chosen over eight others.\u003cbr/\u003eOfficials said that Childs would serve as the design architect and project manager leading the team that would design the tower.\u003cbr/\u003eLibeskind would serve as a contributing architect for the concept and schematic design of the tower, they said.\u003cbr/\u003eLower Manhattan Development Corporation President Kevin Rampe said in a statement that the Freedom Tower would be designed in \"a manner consistent with the Libeskind vision.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe announcement followed a nearly eight-hour private meeting on Tuesday night at the downtown offices of the development corporation, which was created after September 11, 2001, to oversee the rebuilding process.\u003cbr/\u003eThe agreement appeared to resolve at least some of the conflicts between Libeskind and Silverstein, who have clashed over Libeskind's vision for the site.\u003cbr/\u003eLibeskind had envisioned an off-centre spire at the top of the tower, while Silverstein said such a spire would increase construction costs. It was not clear whether that aspect of the tower's design would be altered as a result of the deal.\u003cbr/\u003eWednesday's announcement did not touch on any other aspects of the Libeskind plan,
