STILL photo of the three kidnapped Israeli soldiers \u003cbr/\u003eA silent protest was held on Sunday in front of the UN headquarters in Jerusalem.\u003cbr/\u003eThe rally came a year after Hezbollah abducted three Israeli soldiers into Lebanon.\u003cbr/\u003eSince then, the Iran-backed group has not allowed the International Red Cross to visit them and no information about their condition has been released.\u003cbr/\u003eThree Israeli authors and a Nobel Peace Prize winner on Sunday appealed for world pressure to secure information about the missing troops.\u003cbr/\u003eThe appeal was written by author Amos Oz and was signed by writers A.B. Yehoshua and David Grossman, as well as US-based author Elie Wiesel, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986.\u003cbr/\u003eAn appeal published in Israeli newspapers said: \"Every person with conscience and a heart must raise his or her voice\" and press Hezbollah, Iran, the United Nations and the governments of Syria and Lebanon to release the soldiers or \"at the very least\" provide information about them.\u003cbr/\u003eIsraeli officials were permitted to view videotapes taken by UN peacekeepers after the abduction and some items belonging to the soldiers, some spattered with blood. \u003cbr/\u003eBlood at the site of the abduction indicated that one or all of the soldiers were wounded.\u003cbr/\u003eThe appeal also mentions Israeli businessman Elhanan Tennenbaum, abducted by Hezbollah a few days after the soldiers.\u003cbr/\u003eYaakov Avidan, father of one of the soldiers, welcomed the appeal. \u003cbr/\u003eHe told Israel Radio that it \"showed us that the people of Israel are with the families and care about the boys, who were after all on Israeli territory\" when they were abducted.\u003cbr/\u003eHezbollah maintains that though Israel withdrew from south Lebanon after an 18-year occupation last year, it retained control of a small part of Lebanese territory known as Chebaa Farms. \u003cbr/\u003eIsrael says it withdrew behind a border drawn by UN
