Kennedy Airport are believed  dead.\u003cbr/\u003eThe TWA plane flew from Greece on Wednesday, where aviation authorities maintain  that the plane underwent rigorous security checks.\u003cbr/\u003eThe FBI terrorism team investigating TWA Flight 800 bound for Paris' Charles de Gaulle  airport say it's too early to tell if a bomb caused the explosion and ensuing crash.\u003cbr/\u003eOn board --  212 passengers and 17 crew members. None are believed to have survived.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Boeing jet had arrived from Athens, Greece and had been on the ground for three  hours at JFK before taking off for Paris.\u003cbr/\u003eFlight TWA 881 departs from Athens' Hellenikon International Airport for JFK every day.\u003cbr/\u003eAirport security officials in Athens say that the jumbo left Athens Wednesday as  scheduled, without any security problems.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile on the tarmac in Athens, the plane was checked by airline employees, Greek  security officials and private TWA security officers.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to airport officials, all passengers, carry-on baggage and luggage also went  through security checks by both police and TWA security officers.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Greek government also reported that it had not received any \"emergency  communications\" regarding the flight from American government agencies.\u003cbr/\u003eTight security has surrounded U-S bound flights from Athens in recent months,  especially following a visit here by American aviation experts in April. \u003cbr/\u003eDuring this trip, American security experts overturned their earlier findings that the  Hellenikon airport did not meet international security standards.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Federal Aviation Administration has been placed on an increased level of security  because of the Olympics, which begin Friday in Atlanta.\u003cbr/\u003eBut there have been no specific threats against TWA.\u003cbr/\u003eAthens, Greece, 18 July 1996:\u003cbr/\u003e1.
