He is sincere as he is because we know him. He's always been with us,\" Lopez said. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Mario Poli, presided at the mass.\u003cbr/\u003eHe took over the post held by Pope Francis.\u003cbr/\u003ePoli talked about the need for authorities to combat drug trafficking to protect young people from addiction.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We see that drug trafficking is a monster that hits hard and comes for more. But nobody is stopping it. And we know it can be done. We say that if the youth are stolen from us, our hope has been stolen,\" Poli said.\u003cbr/\u003eHe announced December 7 as a day of fasting and prayer against drug trafficking. \u003cbr/\u003eFollowing the mass, Olga Cruz, an activist with an anti-human trafficking organisation, said Pope Francis gave her encouragement to do her work.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I was scared and he said 'Do not be afraid, do not be afraid of death, death will come when it has to come. Continue moving forward with what you want to do and with what you are sure you want to do. So, he gave me a lot of strength,\" Cruz said.\u003cbr/\u003ePope Francis is the son of middle-class Italian immigrants and was born in Buenos Aires.\u003cbr/\u003eHe took over as Buenos Aires archbishop in 1998 and became cardinal in 2001.\u003cbr/\u003eHe is the first pope from Latin America.\u003cbr/\u003e1.
