Mid of top of tower \u003cbr/\u003eSeveral events were marked in Taiwan and Philippines on Tuesday to raise awareness on the environment and to celebrate international Earth Day. \u003cbr/\u003eWater was the main focus in Philippines's capital Manila, where environmentalists and cultural groups turned on a fountain in the Cultural Centre and cleaned up the shoreline in the area behind.\u003cbr/\u003eIn a cultural gathering, Singaporean ambassador to the Philippines, Lim Keng Hua, participated in the activities highlighted by offering flowers in the Manila Bay. \u003cbr/\u003eAfter the offering, the ambassador and other participants gathered rubbish from the bay as part of the earth day celebrations.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Today's effort is a very modest. The organisers emphasised the importance of curbing an increase in the temperatures worldwide to less than 2 degree celsius.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe April 22 Earth Day is celebrated internationally to
