Mid of sign outside church\u003cbr/\u003eA delegation of ANC military veterans marched to the Pretoria Mediclinic on Sunday to express support for ailing anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela.\u003cbr/\u003eKebby Maphatsoe, National Chairperson of the Military Veterans Association, who led the march said the veterans have come to \"give our national chaplain a chance to pray, and wish our first commander in chief and the first patron of military veterans, prayers.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe veterans, some clad in battle uniform, carried a portrait of Mandela and chanted slogans in his support. \u003cbr/\u003eMandela remains hospitalised over three weeks after he was admitted for a recurring lung infection.\u003cbr/\u003eSouth Africans in Soweto continued to pray for 94 year-old Mandela as he remains in critical condition.   \u003cbr/\u003eAt the Regina Mundi church, congregation members said the country needs to acknowledge the elder statesman's age, but they are still anxious about his health.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe Mandela family has thanked South Africa for their prayers, and has asked the world to keep the \"father of the nation\" in their thoughts.\u003cbr/\u003eResponding to criticism of the media coverage of Mandela's condition, one member of the congregation said it is \"imperative\" that the media reports the story and its development \"because he is an icon.
