affect on the  jurors.\u003cbr/\u003eLead plaintiff Paul Engler says at least the trial proved that U-S beef is safe. \u003cbr/\u003eHe also claimed that Winfrey and others will be more careful now issues.\u003cbr/\u003eThe lawsuit was seen as the biggest test yet of libel laws enacted in Texas and 12  other states, in recent years, to protect agricultural products from false and disparaging  remarks.\u003cbr/\u003eMad cow disease has ravaged cattle in Britain in recent years.\u003cbr/\u003eBut the disease has never been found in the United States.\u003cbr/\u003eThe cattlemen, led by Paul Engler of Amarillo, said prices fell to 10-year lows days after  Winfrey's show aired.\u003cbr/\u003eThe farmers cast doubt on the threat of mad cow disease in the United States and  claimed Winfrey and her producers wanted a \"scary\" show to boost ratings.\u003cbr/\u003eWinfrey's side argued that the price collapse was caused instead by high feed costs  and
