provider, would not harm competition or limit consumer choices.\u003cbr/\u003eMurdoch said that the merger will improve DirecTV, providing consumers with more local TV stations and better high-speed Internet access, during testimony to the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee.\u003cbr/\u003eNews Corp., which owns companies including Fox and Fox News Channel, struck a deal in April to acquire 34 percent of Hughes Electronics Corp., the division of General Motors that operates DirecTV. \u003cbr/\u003eThe deal, valued at 6.6 (b) billion dollars, has yet to be approved by
