Protestor holding a burning red flag\u003cbr/\u003eHundreds of demonstrators marched through the streets of Srinagar, Indian Kashmir's main city, on Wednesday calling for an end to decades of fighting between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir region. \u003cbr/\u003eThe protest, timed to coincide with U.S President George W. Bush's arrival in Delhi also on Wednesday, led through the summer capital of India's Jammu-Kashmir state to the United Nations Military Observer Group (UNMOG) headquarters. \u003cbr/\u003eThroughout, demonstrators shouted pro-freedom slogans and carried banners saying \"We want plebiscite\" and \"Blood of Kashmiris needs world attention.\"\u003cbr/\u003eDozens of armed policemen marched alongside to deter any violence.\u003cbr/\u003eProtest leaders then read out a petition to officials at the UN headquarters, calling for international intervention in solving the Kashmir problem.\u003cbr/\u003eIndia and Pakistan have fought a territorial war for control of the region for the past six decades.\u003cbr/\u003eAt the same time, separatist and armed rebel groups are fighting for Kashmir's independence. \u003cbr/\u003eThe insurgency has so far killed more than 67-thousand people.\u003cbr/\u003eAbdul Qayoom, leader of the separatist Democratic Political Movement, called on President Bush to put pressure on India to resolve the dispute once and for all.\u003cbr/\u003eBush has indicated that he will be urging both sides to find a lasting solution during his
