people.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring the day it remains a serene hideout in the city centre, but by night it becomes a battlefield between police and protesters.\u003cbr/\u003eThe park is packed with youths camping out in tents in an attempt to keep away construction workers from levelling the park and build a shopping mall instead, a plan encouraged by Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.\u003cbr/\u003eAt Gezi Park on Tuesday activists relaxed alongside other city residents, some creating a giant peace symbol on the paving whilst others took a yoga class.\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the first activists to stand against the construction plans for the park, Beman Zaatar, claimed that the protesters would oust Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan from office.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We will kick the Tayyip from the government, I guess,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile on Wednesday, activists urged the Turkish government to stop construction plans at the iconic Istanbul park.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Taksim Solidarity group outlined its demands to Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc at a meeting in Ankara.\u003cbr/\u003eActivist Tayfun Kahraman, speaking outside the meeting said there should be no construction at Gezi Park and that \"projects regarding the demolition of AKM (Ataturk Cultural Centre)\" should be cancelled.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Those who are responsible for two deaths and thousands of injuries which occurred during the protests, especially the governors and police chiefs of Istanbul, Ankara and Hatay cities, to be removed from offices; gas bombs and similar materials to be banned,\" he added\u003cbr/\u003eThe ongoing unrest in the country began last week when Turkish police broke up a peaceful sit-in by citizens blocking machinery from clearing Gezi Park to make way to a shopping mall.\u003cbr/\u003eThe protests then morphed into an anti-government movement. \u003cbr/\u003eAlso on Wednesday, Turkey's state-run news agency said police have detained 25 people for \"spreading untrue information\" on social media and provoking protests.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Anadolu Agency said the people were detained in the city of Izmir for allegedly \"inciting the people to enmity and hate.\" It said police were still looking for 13 others.\u003cbr/\u003eTens of thousands of Turks have joined the anti-government protests expressing discontent with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's 10-year rule.\u003cbr/\u003eTurkey's main broadcast media have been criticised for shunning the coverage of police brutality at the protest onset on Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eMany people turned to social media to keep up to date with the developments.\u003cbr/\u003eErdogan, who has dismissed the
