Bush.\u003cbr/\u003eAn Israeli government spokesman said the military operation was an attempt to clean up territories where mortar attacks were carried out against Israeli towns.\u003cbr/\u003eAvi Pazner also said the decision to pull out was made Tuesday morning, before the Bush administration made its comments.  \u003cbr/\u003ePalestinian security officials arrived early Wednesday at Beit Hanoun in Gaza strip, a few hours after Israeli forces withdrew their troops.\u003cbr/\u003eThey inspected the damage from Israel's 24 hour occupation.\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile, the funerals of two children killed by Israeli fire took place Wednesday morning. \u003cbr/\u003eIn Gaza, hundreds of Palestinians attended the funeral of 14-year-old boy Hamza Obeied who was killed Tuesday near Karni.\u003cbr/\u003eGun men fired submachine guns into the air while the crowd chanted anti-Israeli slogans. 'We will continue our march toward Jerusalem' and 'Sharon you should understand that Fatah is going to teach you the lesson you forgot in 1982\". \u003cbr/\u003eThe coffin of the boy was covered by a Palestinian flag. \u003cbr/\u003eIn el-Khader, near Bethlehem in the West Bank, the funeral took place of sixteen year old Rami Musa who died after an Israeli tank shelled his home Tuesday night.\u003cbr/\u003eThe body was laid out in Bethlehem hospital where family and friends gathered to mourn his death before his body was transporting to his home village of El Khader for burial.\u003cbr/\u003eAs Palestinians buried their dead, leader Yasser Arafat met with American consul Ronald Schlicher in Ramallah. \u003cbr/\u003eA senior Palestinian official, meanwhile, said the Palestinian Authority was considering retracting its 1993 recognition of the state of Israel, in light of recent Israeli actions.\u003cbr/\u003eAhmed Abdel Rahman, secretary general of the Palestinian Cabinet said that if Israeli aggression continues, the Palestinians would review all agreements. \u003cbr/\u003eIt was not immediately clear whether Abdel Rahman was expressing his personal views or the position of the Palestinian Authority.\u003cbr/\u003eHours after the pullout took place Palestinians fired mortars at Jewish settlements and an Israeli army position in the Gaza Strip. \u003cbr/\u003eThree mortar shells landed in the industrial zone of the Neve Dekalim settlement in the southern Gaza Strip, and three more landed near an army brigade headquarters in the north of the
