Pan up Goldman Sachs building\u003cbr/\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eThe last of the major Wall Street investment firms, Goldman Sachs, has gone public on the New York Stock Exchange.\u003cbr/\u003eIt cancelled its initial public stock offering last autumn, when the stock market plummeted.\u003cbr/\u003eBut this time around, Goldman Sachs picked a fortuitous time to sell shares to investors as Monday saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average crossing the 11-thousand point barrier.\u003cbr/\u003eShares in Goldman Sachs began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's the last of the major Wall Street investment firms to go public and it raised more than three-and-a-half (b) billion U-S dollars when it floated on Monday.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's the second-largest initial public stock sale in U-S history, second only to Conoco Inc's four (b) billion dollar debut last year.\u003cbr/\u003eGoldman Sachs has sold 69 (m) million shares for 53 dollars each.\u003cbr/\u003eThe entire firm is valued at 29 (b) billion dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eThe proceeds of the stock sale are to be split among the employees, hundreds of whom will become instant millionaires.\u003cbr/\u003eRequests for shares from investors exceeded the available number ten times over.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English) \u003cbr/\u003e\"It's a very successful underwriting, priced very very appropriately at it's 53 dollars a share offering.
