here. \u003cbr/\u003eSince the fall of the Taliban in 2001, the southern Afghan city of Kandahar has enjoyed economic and social progression. \u003cbr/\u003eOn a busy road in the heart of the city's main boulevard lies \"the Kandahar coffee shop.\"\u003cbr/\u003eWith its' bright facade, the Kandahar coffee shop offers a splash of colour in a city overwhelmingly made up of single-story brick and metal shops and has provided citizens of the war ravaged city, a place for relaxation. \u003cbr/\u003eFazal Ahmed, an afghan youth who regularly frequents the new caf� says it provides young people with a place to hang-out. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Kandahar coffee shop is the brainchild of Mohammad Naseem, an Afghan-American entrepreneur who wanted to bring the coffee culture of Seattle, Washington to Afghanistan. \u003cbr/\u003eThe coffee shop also boasts a library, internet cafe and snooker club.\u003cbr/\u003eMohammad Naseem said investing money to establish a western style coffee shop was a small but important step forward towards economic growth and provide young people with a place to go. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Kandahar coffee shop is not the only new initiative for change in Kandahar. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Afghan-Canadian community Centre or ACCC was set up by Ehsan Ullah and provides female students the opportunity to take vocational classes in english, computer literacy and business management. \u003cbr/\u003eUllah says all courses taught at the centre are internationally recognised post-secondary school qualifications accredited by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), a polytechnic university in Calgary, Canada. \u003cbr/\u003eThis is the first time online courses have been offered to female students in Kandahar. \u003cbr/\u003eUllah says that Afghani
