Andrew Meyer walking out of station, hugging family, before getting into a car\u003cbr/\u003eVideo of police Tasering a student attempting to question US Senator John Kerry became an Internet and TV sensation on Tuesday, generating fierce debate about freedom of speech.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring a question-and-answer session on Monday, Andrew Meyer, a 21-year-old student at the University of Florida, asked Kerry why he did not contest the 2004  residential election, which he lost to President George W Bush, and why there had been no moves to impeach Bush.\u003cbr/\u003eHe also asked whether he and Bush were members of the secret society Skull and Bones at Yale University.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter Meyer repeatedly and loudly refused to walk away, officers came to escort him from the venue. \u003cbr/\u003eAs two officers took Meyer by the arms, Kerry can be heard saying, \"That's all right, let me answer his question.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMeyer struggled for several seconds as up to four officers tried to remove him from the room. \u003cbr/\u003eHe screamed for help and tried to break away from officers with his arms flailing at them, then was forced to the ground and ordered to stop resisting.\u003cbr/\u003eAs Kerry told the audience he will answer the student's \"very important question,\" Meyer yelled at the officers to release him, crying out, \"Don't Tase me, bro,\" just before he was shocked.\u003cbr/\u003eHe was led from the room, screaming, \"What did I do?\"\u003cbr/\u003eMeyer, spent a night in jail before his release on Tuesday morning. He had no comment when he left.\u003cbr/\u003eTasers are a brand of stun guns that administer a high voltage shock to individuals.\u003cbr/\u003eAbout one hundred students at the University of Florida Campus protested against the actions of the police and chanted slogans in favour of free speech and demanded that Taser's be removed from the campus.\u003cbr/\u003eAsia Johnson, who witnessed the incident involving Meyer said she was shocked by the actions of the university police.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"They brought him down the isle and brought him down on the ground, there were like seven officers on top of him, it was ridiculous,\" she told the Associated Press.    \u003cbr/\u003eThe students threatened possible sit-ins against the alleged police brutality.\u003cbr/\u003eUniversity of Florida President Bernie Machen said Monday's Tasering incident involving Meyer was, \"regretful for us because civil dialogue and discourse did not occur.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHe asked for a state probe of campus police actions and placed two officers on leave.\u003cbr/\u003eUniversity police said in a news release that officers had been summoned by the forum's sponsors to escort Meyer from the building, though organisers disputed that and said his microphone was cut off after he used a sexually explicit term.\u003cbr/\u003ePolice added that Meyer was Tasered because he resisted when officers were attempting to place him in handcuffs\u003cbr/\u003eHowever a spokesperson for the Accent Speakers Bureau, the student organisation that set up the speech, said they never asked police to escort Meyer out.\u003cbr/\u003eMeyer's lawyer, Robert Griscti said the Tasering incident should never of happened as his client was expressing himself in an open political forum.\u003cbr/\u003ePolice have recommended charges of resisting arrest with violence, a felony, and disturbing the peace and interfering with school administrative functions, a misdemeanour.\u003cbr/\u003eGriscti said Meyer would plead not guilty, but would cooperate with police, prosecutors and the school in their investigations.\u003cbr/\u003eVarious videos of the arrest had been viewed more than 400-thousand times on YouTube as of Tuesday afternoon and were in heavy rotation on TV news.\u003cbr/\u003eBut details from Meyer's online writings and videos raised the question of whether his harangue during the forum was genuine or some kind of stunt.\u003cbr/\u003eMeyer, a senior telecommunications major from the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Weston, has a Web site featuring several homemade videos. \u003cbr/\u003eIn one, he  stands in a street with a sign that says \"Harry Dies\" after the latest Harry Potter book was released. \u003cbr/\u003eIn another, he acts like a drunk in a bar while trying to pick up a man dressed in drag.\u003cbr/\u003eThe site also has what is called a \"disorganised diatribe\" attributed to Meyer that criticises the Iraq war, the news media for not covering the conflict enough and
