His hands-on approach to parenting has made him a leading figure in childcare in Japan.  \u003cbr/\u003eThrough seminars and workshops his mission is to put the fun back into being a dad.\u003cbr/\u003eAnother key message is that fathers should help in supporting their working wives.\u003cbr/\u003eAndo says fathers need to be more supportive of mothers.\u003cbr/\u003eThe test, devised by Ando, is proving to be popular.\u003cbr/\u003eMore than 1,000 men across Japan have sat the test.  \u003cbr/\u003eAndo says the exam is aimed at testing fathers' knowledge about childcare.\u003cbr/\u003eSome of questions range from baby food issues and potty training, to a quiz on childcare leave. \u003cbr/\u003eIn all the exams consists of 50 questions and a short essay.\u003cbr/\u003eTomohiro Shimizu, a publisher, says these days more and more men are choosing to take an active interest in parenting.\u003cbr/\u003eFor Shimizu, the image of the Japanese corporate warrior who remains firmly hands-off with the children, is outdated. \u003cbr/\u003eOne man who studied and sat the exam is Takashi Satake.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says the essay he wrote in the exam focused on the joys of parenting.\u003cbr/\u003eAnother father who took part in the exam is Kenichi Ito.\u003cbr/\u003eIto says the course has made him aware of just how much he used to rely on his wife's knowledge.\u003cbr/\u003eWhether coping with, or enjoying the change, there is still long way ahead for a country where less than 0.5 % of fathers take child-care leave, according to the
