He mixed motorcycle boots with military shirts and a chalk white napa leather shirt with brown pinstripe accordion pleat skirt. For dresses and skirts he used suede so soft it hung like cashmere. The colour palate was muted and included black, army green, chocolate brown, white and crème.\u003cbr/\u003eThe emphasis was on wearability and Cole succeeded with a range that wouldn't look out of place in the office, as casual evening wear or out on the town.\u003cbr/\u003eIn a somewhat unusual twist, Cole also asked guests to bring some of their own clothes to his show - not to be paraded down the catwalk, but as donations for one of his many charities. \u003cbr/\u003eCole is a dedicated fundraiser and the clothes brought yesterday - by stars including Kevin Bacon - will go to Help USA. The charity works on housing assistance, adult basic education, adult literacy, and nutrition education.\u003cbr/\u003eSharing Cole's use of smooth lines, slim coats and skinny trousers was the New York based Venezuelan-born designer CAROLINA HERRERA.\u003cbr/\u003eHer collection was sleek, svelte and assuredly smart, boasting sophistication without complication. \u003cbr/\u003eShe put ivory against black, and also used leather, but with lace. Stretch satin featured alongside feathers, with strong emphasis on the contract between matte and glossy.\u003cbr/\u003eHemlines on pencil skirts were below the knee, the belt was a major item, smartly stitched in leather, vernice, suede, satin and embroidery. \u003cbr/\u003eThe palette is cool and low key in camel, ebony, indigo, plum, and ivory, sparked with flashes of mandarin, lime, blueberry and raspberry.
