virtual world until spring next year.\u003cbr/\u003e \"Home\" is a real-time interactive online world much like Linden Lab's \"Second Life\" and other so-called \"metaverse\" designs (fully immersive 3D virtual spaces) - except it's designed for PlayStation 3, Sony's newest home console.\u003cbr/\u003eMillions of people now enter \"Second Life\" on personal computers, moving avatars, or computer graphics images of themselves, in a virtual universe.\u003cbr/\u003eThe product's delay is the latest trouble Sony has had with the PlayStation3, whose European launch had to be postponed for several months due to production problems.\u003cbr/\u003eHirai, named in November 2006 as president to replace Ken Kutaragi, the \"father of the PlayStation,\" sounded apologetic in several places during his speech, acknowledging that the PlayStation 3 had failed to live up to the company's sales targets.\u003cbr/\u003eHe promised to listen more to complaints and suggestions from game software creators and game fans to improve the PlayStation 3 business.\u003cbr/\u003eDisappointed traders sent Sony's share price down 0.9 percent to 5,440 yen in Tokyo trading.\u003cbr/\u003eSony once dominated the gaming industry with PlayStation 2, predecessor for the PS3, but now faces intense competition from Microsoft Corp., which has sold 11.6 million Xbox 360 machines in the last two years, and from Nintendo Co.'s popular Wii, which has sold 9.3 million units since late last year.\u003cbr/\u003eAs the winter season approaches, the consoles are trying to entice buyers with a series of new games such as Ninja Gaiden 2 and Halo 3. \u003cbr/\u003eMicrosoft's publicity says that Halo 3, which is released in Japan on September 27, 2007, is \" one of the most anticipated video game launches of the year.\"  \u003cbr/\u003eIn 2004, when \"Halo 2\" arrived, it grossed $125 million in its first 24 hours on sale in the United States.\u003cbr/\u003eThat's more than the worldwide box office generated by \"Spider-Man 3\" in its first day in theatres back in May 2007.\u003cbr/\u003eMicrosoft clearly expects \"Halo 3\" to surpass that figure and, perhaps more important, to boost sales of the Xbox 360, which is engaged in a fierce battle with Nintendo's Wii for home console supremacy. \u003cbr/\u003eMore than 10,000 retailers in the United States alone are expected to open their doors at midnight on September 25 to begin selling Halo 3.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, some visitors at the Tokyo games show showed little enthusiasm for the 'must have' game. \u003cbr/\u003eYoshie Fujiu, a Software Developer, says that the Japanese infrastructure is not ready for such  MMORPG games (massively mulitplayer online role-playing games). \u003cbr/\u003eAnother visitor, Takuya Satoh, says that he does not think there is much demand for on-line games at the moment in Japan. \u003cbr/\u003eOrganisers are expecting more than 160,000 visitors for the duration of the four day event (September 20
