It's unbelievable. I don't know, everything we imagined for and much more,\" Lela enthused.\u003cbr/\u003eThe other same sex couple, both men, to tie the knot didn't have to travel as far. Shawn Klein and Phil Fung live in New York City. \u003cbr/\u003eThey have been together for over 18 years, and just felt that since same sex marriage was now legalised in New York they wanted to take the plunge.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Being the first same sex couple to get married in the Empire State Building since the legalisation of same sex marriage is quite an historical and very appreciative day for us,\" Klein said.\u003cbr/\u003eCouples from across the country had to submit videos describing their love stories and why they should be chosen to marry or renew their vows at the Empire State Building. \u003cbr/\u003e16 semi-finalists were selected and the public voted for their favourite couples on Facebook.\u003cbr/\u003eAcross New York, other couples chose to celebrate Valentine's Day in a markedly different style, with a tour of Brooklyn's Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.\u003cbr/\u003eThere couples spent the day of love learning about sewage. \u003cbr/\u003eAround 100 people visited the plant on Tuesday, for a tour that was billed as an \"unforgettable\" way to celebrate what's supposed to be the most romantic day of the year. \u003cbr/\u003eThe plant, which is the largest of New York City's 14 sewage treatment plants, processes 1.5 (m) million gallons of waste every day. \u003cbr/\u003eIn a nod to Valentine's Day, plant workers had set out red and pink bins filled with chocolates for the visitors, as they learned all about things like natural gas and sludge.\u003cbr/\u003eAmong the visitors was Michael Jennings, who told his girlfriend, Nitisha Rawlings, that he was taking her on a surprise for Valentine's Day.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I knew it would be something different for her,\" he said. \"I told her it wasn't going to be something romantic, I mean it
