Various Cliff Richard recording\u003cbr/\u003eYesterday (Thursday 6th Feb) Bill Wyman, Russell Watson, Robin Gibb and Steve Winwood arrived at producer Steve Levine's studio in Fulham to add their vocals to 'Grief Never Grows Old', the official charity song for the Disasters Emergency Committee.\u003cbr/\u003eArtists from all over the globe are contributing to the single including Sir Cliff Richard who has recorded his vocals in LA. Barry Gibb, also recording from LA will join his brother Robin on the track, in what will be the first time they have recorded together since the sudden death of Maurice and Boy George is set to follow suit from New York.\u003cbr/\u003eWhilst recording took place yesterday live link ups took place with The Beach Boys, whilst Russell Watson was recording. \u003cbr/\u003eThe man behind the 'One World' project, is composer and broadcaster Mike Read who has written the moving song entitled 'Grief Never Grows Old'. It is being produced Steve Levine who has worked with a multitude of major artists such as The Beach Boys, Culture Club and Stevie Wonder.\u003cbr/\u003eThe backing track for the song has already been recorded and sent to various artists with the aim of recording and finalising all those singing on the track by the 7th of January, so the song can be ready for release as soon as possible. \u003cbr/\u003eAlready the 'One World' project has guaranteed backing from the music giants Universal Records with pressing plants, production facilities and design teams all offering their services to make this a success.\u003cbr/\u003eAll funds raised will go to The Disasters Emergency Committee whose immediate task is to distribute the money to the initial target areas of the tsunami with water, food, shelter, and medical supplies.\u003cbr/\u003eThe single is expected in stores in a fortnight and it is hoped the single will raise over �2 million for the relief effort.\u003cbr/\u003eBonus tracks will feature the National Children's Orchestra and also a youth choir in Sri Lanka called 'Soul Sounds'. \u003cbr/\u003eHaving heard of the release on a radio broadcast in Sri Lanka, the choir spent the next three days tracking down the team involved in the 'One World' single and asked if they could participate with vocals. it seemed to all concerned the perfect addition, what could be more appropriate, as they explain themselves - \u003cbr/\u003e'The Holy Family Convent choir of Colombo Sri Lanka are situated a stone's throw from the waves that took the lives of so many neighbours, when Soundarie David the Musical Director of the choir heard Mike Read's song for the world, he spent the next few days tracing those involved, and asking if our choir could be part of the venture to raise money for tsunami victims. We have now got some of our island's leading singers to participate. They set about their task with Jerome De Silva the choir's Manager/Producer and Neranjan De Silva their Sound Engineer/Advisor. A little bit of Sri Lanka's soul at this time is in their effort.
