Obviously we're not spending any money on gas and you know gas is like $3.69 cents right now a gallon, so this is something you charge overnight. It can take them where ever they need to go. You just bring it to the curb, get off, go get the trash cans from the street, get on it and go to the next house. You don't have to find a parking space you just get off and go.\"\u003cbr/\u003e18. service, promises to free people from the time consuming task of taking the rubbish out.\u003cbr/\u003eTime-strapped Californians are being offered a new kind of customised service.\u003cbr/\u003eFor a small fee, Curbside Trash Luggers come round to your home, and pick up your trash cans and drag them to the curb.\u003cbr/\u003eAll this for $16 US Dollars per month.\u003cbr/\u003eCollectors use a motorised Segway Personal Transporter, to scoot around residential streets while working.\u003cbr/\u003eThe company is the brainchild of Ric Christopher, Craig Strauss, and David McSweeney.\u003cbr/\u003eChristopher says he started the company after he realised people would be willing to pay to have their rubbish bins brought to the street.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says people with physical disabilities use the service, especially in a hilly area like Hollywood.\u003cbr/\u003eLooking at how steep some residential roads are, the Curbside Trash Luggers have their work cut out.\u003cbr/\u003eStrauss admits the reaction from people to the business is always amusing. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says some of the people he encounters tell him they wish they'd come up withy the idea themselves.\u003cbr/\u003eThose behind the collection service, say they are offering an environmentally friendly service.\u003cbr/\u003eMcSweeney says their scooters are electric and therefore save money on petrol.\u003cbr/\u003eStrauss says their service is perfect for people who do not have the time or inclination to take out their trash.\u003cbr/\u003eThe local Beverly Hills council is backing the service.\u003cbr/\u003eShana Epstein, an environmental utilities manager, says they take recycling seriously, and are currently recycling 60 per cent of their waste.\u003cbr/\u003eFor one man, the collections service gives him more free time.\u003cbr/\u003eDick Powell says he hates taking out the trash.\u003cbr/\u003eKristina Jackson says the service is similar to what gardeners or
